African slender-snouted crocodile, Central and West Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon; A highly aquatic species, found primarily in riverine habitat with dense vegetation cover. Also found in large lakes.

Information Provided by The Florida Museum of Natural History

Siamese crocodile, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam; Prefers slow-moving areas of freshwater (swamps, sheltered parts of rivers and streams), and such areas may be refugia for the remaining small populations in the wild.
Philippine or Mindoro crocodile, Philippines; Mainly restricted to freshwater areas - e.g. small lakes and ponds, small riverine tributaries and marshes.
Nile crocodile, Mamba, Garwe, Ngwenya, Africa; Wide habitat preferences, reflecting their success and distribution- e.g. lakes, rivers, freshwater swamps, brackish water. Sub-adults disperse into different habitats, away from breeding areas.

Mugger, Marsh crocodile, Bangladesh, Iran, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka; Freshwater rivers, lakes and marshes. Prefer slow-moving, shallower areas. They have also adapted to live in reservoirs, irrigation canals, and other man-made bodies of freshwater in India and Sri Lanka.
Morelet's, Central American crocodile, Belize, Guatamala, Mexico; Relatively small species, usually reaching 3 m in length. Snout is quite broad for a crocodile, a greyish brown with darker bands and spots on body and tail. Iris is silvery brown.
Tomistoma, False gharial, False gavial, Indonesia Malaysia Vietnam; Characteristic slender snout, generally dark/chocolate brown as a juvenile, with black banding on tail and body. Dark blotches on jaws. Much juvenile colouration retained in the adult. Maximum size up to 5m
Australian Saltwater or Estuarine Crocodile, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Myanmar, Southwest Asia;found in brackish water around coastal areas and in rivers. However, it is also present in freshwater rivers, billabongs and swamps. Movement between different habitats occurs between the dry and wet season, and as a result of social status.
Cuban crocodile, Zapata Swamp in northest Cuba; Medium-sized crocodilian, reaching 3.5 m in length. Head is short and broad, and a bony ridge is present behind eyes. Scales forming the dorsal shield (across the back) extend onto the back of the neck, and scales on the legs are unusually large
Australian freshwater crocodile, permanent freshwater areas such as lakes, billabongs and swamps in Australia; a relatively small crocodilian which rarely exceeds 2.5 to 3 m in the wild and takes many years to reach this size. The shape of the snout is unusually narrow and tapering, lined with numerous sharp teeth.
American crocodile, Southern United States, Central and South America: Both freshwater (including river, lakes and reservoirs) and brackish coastal habitats (including tidal estuaries, coastal lagoons and mangrove swamps). A large population is present in Lago Enriquillo (Dominican Republic), a landlocked hyper-saline lake.
African dwarf crocodile, West and West-central Africa: Primarily found in permanent pools in swamps and areas of slow-moving freshwater in rain forests. Occasional reports of individuals in isolated savannah pools, where burrows are occupied during the dry season. Nocturnal. Spends most of the day in burrows which are constructed by the crocodile.
